I started Liz Ltd in 1997 as a way to encourage myself and others in ways of self discovery, growth and health. In 1997 I weighed 400lbs, suffered with depression and had few people around me to love and support me with a newborn son. It was then that I dedicated to setting goals for the health of my mind, body and spirit. To do this I needed a system that allowed me to enjoy rewards of meeting my goals without involving food. Some indulgences I allowed myself were, home facials, fresh nail color, naps, scented baths by candle light and handmade jewelry.
One bead at a time I made each piece of jewelry with each goal met. By the end of the week or month I had a new beautiful necklace or bracelet that I wore on a special date with myself. I had a tangible way to see and remind myself I was making a difference in my life and the lives of my friends and family. This process helped me lose 180lbs over two years.
The jewelry I make now is still made one bead, or recycled item at a time as I meet daily and weekly goals. Now you can enjoy the fruit of my labor and hopefully be encouraged as you live your life.
